Rasula’sTM ethical sourcing of wild grown organic rosehips is the first and most important step in ensuring the highest quality rosehip oil. We harvest from a region inaccessible to many, where rosehips grow wild and are not commercially farmed. Untouched by our human intelligence; which means that no artificial fertilizers or pesticides was ever used on that soil. Our rosehips are hand- picked by the local women of the Kashmir Valley, in India, at soaring altitudes from the Himalayan Range. These are seasonal, thorny flowering plants and flower for only 2 to 3 months in the year hence the timing of the harvest is crucial and harvesting them is tedious.
By working with women led co-op groups and local farmers in the ‘Valley’ we aim to build a wider array of possibilities for them and us.
